Are you looking to adopt a Chihuahua in Ohio? Then you’re going to need to find the local rescues in the state.
Well, that’s what I am here to do.
To bring to your attention the most reputable rescues, and to give you the contact information you need to start making some inquiries.

Chihuahua Rescue & Transport (CRT)
Chihuahua Rescue & Transport (CRT) is a foster-based rescue group dedicated to placing Chihuahuas and Chihuahua mixes in forever homes. They have managed to do so with thousands of dogs since inception in 1996.
They serve many states, including Ohio in the Midwest region.

WolfSpirits Rescue
Based in Akron Ohio, WolfSpirits Rescue is a small, non-profit 501(c)(3) animal rescue organization dedicated to rescuing and re-homing toy breed dogs.
While not dedicated to chihuahuas specifically, they have been known to have these available for adoption. They are worth contacting and checking in with.

Auglaize County Humane Society
Located out of Wapakoneta, the Auglaize County Humane Society is another non-breed specific rescue that routinely has chihuahuas up for adoption.

Franklin County Dog Shelter
The Franklin County Dog Shelter is a government and state-backed rescue in Columbus, Ohio.
They have an interactive finder on their ‘available dogs’ page that includes a dropdown for chihuahuas.

Save The Animals Foundation
Save The Animals Foundation is a Cincinnati-based rescue operated by volunteers. They are funded entirely by donations but manage to nurse many dogs back to health and care for them before they are ready to find them forever home.
This rescue has been known to have chihuahuas available for adoption, and you can specifically search for them on the site:

Finally
There is one main Chihuahua rescue in Ohio. Well, at least that I could find.
There may be others out there, but you’ll certainly need to do a little bit of digging to find them.
Nevertheless, there is a range of other non-breed specific dog shelters that you can contact that are often are looking to rehome this great little toy breed.
Many of which have filters that you can apply to quickly search to find those available.
